LAGEPLAN
URBAN DESIGN
The idea is, to create one clean building out of the existing structure with its many different heights. A slab [“The Flying Classroom”] is placed on top of the middle part of the building. It generates a covered outdoor space, which can later be used for further extensions of the school.
The existing trees in the northeast are extended over the whole length of the building. In this area, also the sidewalk is widened to get a more pedestrian-friendly street area.
ARCHITECTURE/FUNCTION
The concept of the building is continued on the inside. The “Flying Classroom” makes room for a more open organisation inside with open space for multifunctional use.
