SIDEPLAN
[A new ensemble defines a new town center]
By linking existing functions with an open space, the project creates a center of encounter and forms a place to meet and linger.
The existing axial alignment gets incorporated and defines two buildings which integrate into the built environment. Together with a local museum they define the new village square. The „Dorfstraße“ in the south is integrated into the square as a shared space. It slows down traffic and can be used for multiple functions such as sports events or markets.
CONCEPT
NORTH VIEW
The project consists of two buildings, which are designed to fit into the built environment. The community office is a compact, two-story building. The second volume includes a pharmacy as well as two apartments on top of it.
